Original equipment spark plugs

Guff's post on spark plugs brought up something that is probably in one of the Farmall history books but I havent seen it.

For the H of the 1930-1950, what make and model spark plug came in it from the factory?

Did Farmall stay with the same make plugs for years or did they change suppliers?

Did the buyer have a preference?

I do not know what was original eguipment but current IH parts book shows Champion, AC and Autolite plugs with normal service and light to moderate service plugs in each brand. Parts book does not give plug makers numbers just IH parts nunbers.

i remember seeing some champion plugs with the i-h logos on them years ago, maybe they were original plugs.

Spark plugs are pretty much a "commodity" item. IHC no doubt bid/purchased them in very large quantities and went with whichever plug mfr had the best price at the moment. Thus all (3) brands are listed in the parts catalogs and are assigned IHC part numbers.

Incidentally the Super H parts catalog lists both the IHC and mfr part numbers for (3) plug brands (Champion, Autolite and AC) and (4) levels of service (light/moderate, normal, severe and extremely severe) - a total of (12) different plugs.

I have the original Champion spark plugs in the toolbox of my F-20. I think they came with Champions/AC, but I'm not 100% sure.
