jets for M carb

Hey where can you get the jet for a M .Dads old M had the jets bored out back when he farmed now that it is a chore tractor we can,t get it leaned down enough keeps fouling plugs . Case IH no longer has them availible. JT
 
The main metering stem is included in the complete rebuild kit. Usually the holes in the metering stem are what have been drilled out. If you are talking about the metering jet down in the bottom that the adjustment screw fits into, that one is unavailable. Athough, unless that jet has been totally reemed out, you should still be able to screw that adjustment further in and lean it out.
 
Rusty, Do you know the correct original size of those holes in the metering stem (discharge nozzle). I've seen several that I know were oversize. (drilled out).

No, I've never bothered trying to guage the holes in a new one. Need to do that sometime. I've run across quite a few that have been drilled out, but what I don't know is if maybe those oversized stems were a part of the M&W performance improvement package? Gotta do some measuring. I never throw any of them away.
 
Solder it shut and redrill it to a smaller size. Maybe some one has one apart to see what size bit to use. Or if you have the # drills go 2 or 3 smaller to start with and if it is too lean redrill it.
 
50983DC carb top hole .042, middle .046, bottom
.053. Thats what I have noted from measureing years ago. The main seat in bottom is .055. IH came out with at least 2 more M tractor sizes for main jet and outlet diameter of them and some other metering parts changed with them also.
One was a power improvement package before fire crater pistons and the other was for fire crater pistons. Distillate kerosene carbs used some different sizes also.
 
top= 0.041"
middle= 0.046"
bottom= 0.055"

If rich at idle adjust idle screw out to lean idle circuit mixture

If rich at full rpm adjust load screw in to lean the main load circuit
