how does this model compare to an super h and super m in power and traction in the field. I am looking get one for stone boat pulling.

Looking at HP and weight only, it "may" outpull a Super H, I sort of doubt it, but a Super M will make mincemeat out of it. But, I have never driven a 340.

I had a 340 gas that I always wanted to pull, seems the motor would rev quicker and had quite a bit power for its size,I sold it to a friend and he took it to PA and pulled first in class

I don't enter my 340 in pulling events but it can pull a 2-16 plow in northern MN clay. Not sure if it could handle much more. Does that help?

In the same weight class as a Super M, mincemeat, definitely.

The Super H will probably make it look silly.

A 340 is little more than a Super C with a TA, a fancier hydraulic system, a few more cubes, and a few more RPMs. Still a very neat tractor that I want to own some day.

340s are pretty decent power for their size, not real powerful, but not underpowered, least in my opinion. Our 340U has done anything from blowing snow to square baling, to pulling a 10 foot tandem disk. Dont know how theyd do in pulling though, they got a bit more weight than most in their horsepower class.

I pull a 340 utility at a cement slab dead weight pull and do fairly well consistently. This isn't a horsepower as much as a traction/weight distribution pull.

good feed back people! i have to respectfully disagree on the super H comment becuase if you look at the tractor data page it list this model with a lot more hp. but I don't believe it's right. every data web site you go to it's different. this is why i turn to fellow tractor owner for their input.nothing like getting the infro from the horse mouth sort of speak. I get the impresion that this model is a spin off the super h with more hp and wieght
