The sn is 303902X1 What year is it? Does it have a mag or a distributor? I havent been around a tractor this new since I was home. Doubt if the cub mag would be the same shape as an H. What sn is on the front wheel bearing?, Inner and outer. Thanks for the help

According to the list on the left, its a 1949 model.

You can tell if it has a mag or a distributor just by looking at it, since thats the only real way to tell. You could order a machine with either one, or one could have been swapped on if it came with a mag. I would guess that year probably was distributor (battery) ignition, but I could be wrong.

In you need parts numbers for a bearing, you can go to the Case-IH web page and use their parts lookup engine. It has great parts diagrams for all of these old machines.

The distributor would be a cap on a cylindrical affair, and you should see a wire coming from another cylinder nearby (the coil) with a short heavy wire into the center post on your cap.

If a magneto, it is most likely an IH Model H4. On that, your distributor cap will be mounted to a body that is generally rectangular with a rounded bottom. On top of the rectangular section will be a rectangular cap, and the wire to the center of your distributor cap will come from that second cap.
