Oil leaking from rear of torque tube on M

Hello Folks: Drove the M Saturday and it was able to warm up fairly well. After parking I notice a small oil spot on the ground under the rear of the torque tube where it bolts to rear end housing. It is not rear end oil or at least it doesn"t smell like rear end oil. So my question is whether it is oil from the lift-all? It wouldn"t be engine motor oil, would it? If the consensus is that it is from lift-all what might be best plan of attack? Thanks, David

The best plan of attack is to remove the inspection cover from behind the lift-all pump, shine a light up into the cavity and have a look. You'll never know where the leak is until you do that.

Like rusty says pull the inspection cover off and have a look. I take a spray can of degreaser and clean stuff off and then run it. The leaks usually shows up like a sore thumb when the rest of the area is dry and are easy to pinpoint.
