Hydraulic valve for an M Farmall

Can I use any open center, two way valve mounted between a bellypump outlet, and fill tube? In other words like the farmall valves that are mounted the same way that one must keep the hydraulic lever pulled back for? (that was a mouth full)

Better luck has been had using a T in the drain hole. Look up Janicholson MH hydraulic in the Search for at the parts and pieces gallery to the left. JimN

Nice simple set-up for the Saginaw 3pt.

How hard is it on that belly pump to be running all the time when you working with the hydraulics or does it not make a difference.

I've worked this 1947 M very hard while blading dirt, mud and hardpan, now the control lever is pulled back and the blade stays several inches off the ground for weeks at a time.

There's no problem with the weight of a bush hog either.

Changed out the old oil, 30wt non-detergent is still very clean after a lot of work on private roads and fields. :)
