Need a good laugh?

I posted earlier today...took out our Farmall C to move some dirt & there was a "clunk" noise coming from what I thought was the transmission. So, I drained it all out (including several gallons of water) & went & bought a new 5 gallon can of 80W from NAPA for $65....put that in & started her up....started moving & "clunk, clunk, clunk"....so, I happened to be on a small hill, so, I killed the motor...still "clunk, clunk, clunk"....Know what it was??? Somehow, I lost one of the 3 bolts & hold downs from my front wheel! Everytime the wheel made a revolution, it would separate a little from the wheel hub until it had the tractor weight on it & than "clunk"....I laughed so dam hard, all that trouble for something so simple! Anyway, I spent the day on it, changed the motor oil, tranny fluid, grease every fitting, can of dry gas, cleaned the gas bowl, added another inline filter (I had one), pulled the spark plugs & cleaned them. She runs like a champ now!!!

Lawd, son! You're good for another ten years.

Where in the Land of The Way Life Should Be are ya?

I'm in Frankfort.

Thaks. Was just wonderin'. Seem to reacall that the fella "next-door" in the Farmall line was from Kennebunk.

Is that some kinda shield rigged over your generator to keep the rain off your cutout?

Yep, piece of an old tractor tire cut to fit & bolted to cover generator, simple, but, it works. Likely you either met Larry, Ron or Leo from Kennebunk...we've got 7 Farmalls, each of those guys must have 10.

LOL. Oh,well at least it wasn't anything major. Wish all fixes could be like that. Its probably good that the wheel did that cause you probably wouldn't of changed the oil in the rear end for who knows how long. Least ya got the water out of her. Happy driving!!

Looks like you could get a flat lean-to on either side of that shed to put the tractor under---even if you had to dig down a foot or so to get it underneath.

if you get a chance, could you post another pic showing the detail of how your remote hydraulic valve is mounted? and your opinion of that set-up? One of my projects is to add a 2-spool valve to my super C so i have one for fast hitch and one for remote.
thanks
Nathan

Been there, done that, also with a rear dual, and a front wheel weight. One of my neighbors actually sent his Ford 5000 to the dealer to find a clunk. The dealer unloaded it, drove it around his lot once, tightened up a rear wheel weight, and sent it home.
