Eaton Power Steering reservoir leaking

After putting in new seals on the power steering pump, I gave her a try today only to find that the power steering fluid leaks out of the cap on the reservoir. I made a new gasket, yet that didn't fix the promblem. Closer inspection revealed that the oil is leaking out of the hole the stud goes through to attach the cap. Any suggestions on how to seal that hole? Possibly an "O" ring? Thanks

Not sealed because they vent at the stud, some use a special flat washer with slots located under wing nut that holds cover down to vent through.
You may have reservoir to full or air still in system.

How far below the top of the resevoir is your fluid? It should be no higher than 3/4 inch below the top, adn if there is a full mark, it should be BELOW that.

I drained fluid out of the reservoir, and have just that one steel washer/seal on the stud yet it still seems to leak.I noticed that the washer does not form a very tight seal, as mention this is most likely acting as a breather.
