I HAVE A MD THAT I JUST GOT RUNNING, I REPLACED THE FILTERS AND CLEANED THE TRAP AND IT FIRES UP AND RUNS FINE BUT WHEN UNDER LOAD OR WHEN GOING TO 5TH GEAR IT BOGGS DOWN AND SMOKES LIKE A STEAMER, NEW TO THE DIESELS ANY HELP IS APPREICIATED, ALSO I STRIPPED OUT THE BLEEDER ON THE FINAL FILTER WHERE CAN I GET ONE.

all naturally aspirated engines will smoke when lugging the engine. remember they are only 45 hp or so,there good engines when taken care of,keep your cooling system clean, warm up engine good before switching to diesel. As for your bleeders the CNH part number is 275634R1, part still listed.Good luck scott

The key word is just. Give it time to get used to operating. The injection may be a bit out of time, and letting it get a few hours on it, then setting things to spec will help. See shifting farmalls into fifth in the search for box. I run full throttle in 4th, clutch in idle down shift sloishly (a bit of grind, like 6 teeth) then let out clutch and open it up. It is a 4 second shift. JimN

THANKS GUYS, HOW LONG DO YOU GUYS RUN ON GAS SIDE BEFORE SWITCHING OVER AND HOW LONG DO LET THE MOTOR COOL DOWN BEFORE SHUTTING DOWN, ALSO DO YALL HAVE ANY MIRICLE SOLUTIONS TO RUN THROUGH THE TANK TO CLEAN THE INJECTORS AND WHAT IS A CNC #?

You only need to run the engine long enough on gas at startup to get it to where it will run smoothly on diesel. Let it run a bit, try switching, and if it won't run, switch back before it stalls. Give it a couple more minutes. After a few times you'll get an idea as to how long it needs to run. As for cooldown, probably not more than a couple minutes unless you're really working the tractor.

CNH is Case NewHolland. The number is the part number that you ask for at the parts counter of your local Case NewHolland (also known as Case IH) dealer. In other words, you can get a new replacement part from the dealer.

Get yourself a quart of Diesel 9-1-1 in the RED bottle. Use about double the recommended dosage. The stuff is a miracle cure. We even put it in an old kerosene torpedo heater that hasn't worked right in years, and I think it fixed it. Before it wouldn't run for more than a few minutes at a time. After we put the 9-1-1 in it, it ran for 3 hours straight before we shut it off.

Cool-down time should be a minimum of 5 minutes in hot weather--hard working. Less time in cooler temps & lighter loads. These outfits had a history of cracked heads---mainly because of heat stress[inadequate cool-down time]. Same with warm-up---light load for a couple minutes after the block is warm to the touch. Then full load.

I bought a 75,000 btu torpedo heater at a sale.Didn't run well. Shopped for a rebuild kit. Got everything I needed, pump kit, igniter, filters, at local farm store for about 20 bucks.
Pulled the pump, installed new rotor and vanes, igniter, and filters. Fiddles with the mixture screw a little and it ran on diesel better than new.
