Super MD valve recession spec?

I'm currently having the head re-done for my Super MD and cannot find a spec for valve recession anywhere. Using the old seats etc we can ball park it but I was hoping someone on here might have a spec that wasn't in the book (I do have the book for the D-264 by the way). Thanks, Sam

I never did see a spec for valve recession on that engine. Actually the early manuals on the D 236 and D 282 didn't have them eiether. Service bulletins were released later on for them as we started to run into starting and cleanup problems. It was very difficult for a dealership to get engineering specs on anything until warranty claims start piling up on a particular problem. I would have to rely on an experienced machine shop to have some specs.

I would love to rely on an experienced machine shop but there just aren't any of them in this part of the world (at least not on gas start diesels because there are not many of them either). We were going to put two new valves on the two best seats, take an average, and shoot to make them all equal. Thanks, Sam
