I recently purchased some old parts from an estate. Most parts are for Farmall tractors, included was this rear light. The main white light pulls out several feet and retracts on a reel inside. It also has the rear red light on the outside as well as some unknown attachment bracket.
I know what it looks like (a rear work light)???
Painted (original looking) Farmall color.
Looks some what rare?
Side of the case is marked
"Twin Lenz
Harlan Mfg. Co, Inc.
Harlan, Iowa"

My questions are, from what, for what and are these very common?

Thanks

I don't know much about them, but yours is about the third one I have seen, so I would say they are somewhat rare.

I've never seen anything like it in an IH document (not that I have seen everything!). My best guess is that it was an aftermarket item. It may have been sold by IH dealers or from places like Central Tractor.

Gary,I have one identical to that ,all ienses in place and working. I am about 35 miles from Harlan,Ia. Not sure as to what year they were made. As I understand ,they were used in place of the rear tail light on about any tractor and could be used on the trailing imp. also or as a extension-trouble light. Seen one on ebay a while back go for $350.00.

Gary, my old ford tractor parts manual shows a light like that. I will look tomorrow and see if there are any specs for it.
