aftermarket manifold for H

Installed a new aftermarket exhaust man. and the governor control tube will not bolt up flat, it's as if the manifold is too long, anyone had this problem?

Does not suprise me. Those Idian and Chinees foundries use the specs as just a guide not a rule.
The fact that they will throw a toxic chemical into babbies milk just to keep under budget should scare the heck out of every one. Just emagine what they will do to get a manafold cast under cost.

If its too short try adding another gasket. if its to long try grinding it down. My problem was the mounting holes didnt match up. Had to bore one out bigger to get the bolts in.

That tube will slide up and down some on the end that"s bolted to the governor. Just loosen the two screws.

The tube is down as far as it will go.

I had to drill a hole bigger also, I guess that's what we get when we buy parts that fit a H & Super H instead of made for a H only.

The new SM-TA manifold I bought was the same; the governor tube was at an angle and would not allow free movement of the governor shaft. Some careful grinding later I got everthing working as it was designed.
Aftermarket parts are not always made to exacting specs.
