What would a fair price be for a Farmall A. It is in rough shape missing some parts but it has some paint left on it in tight areas and it is white. The person knows what he has but I was intrested in it. Any help would be appriciated
 
When I went to look at my Super A Demonstrator it had all the tin off it and was rust from sitting in a truck body after being sand blasted. The motor was free, but all the parts to make it run were there. It had good rear tires and ok fronts and needed just about every gasket replaced due to the sand blasting. I gave $1000 for that tractor, put it all together, fixed the charging, and starting system and replaced all the leaky gaskets, and it fired right up and ran and still runs great. It still needs paint a new hood, new front tires, and a few other odds and ends. Hope this helps.

That sounds like a $700 Super A to me. Since it sounds like you really want a demonstrator - and if this is a demonstrator - add 50%, or $350 for a total of $1,050. Of course, you never said whether it runs or not, or whether or not the engine was frozen..... My estimate was based on the engine being free, whether it runs or not. I hope you make the right decision.

treehugger: To start with you said Farmall A. There were no Farmall A white demonstrators. All white demonstrators were built in 1950, thus a white demonstrator in the A size would have to be a Super A.
 
A white Farmall A is nothing more than a tractor that has been repainted the wrong color.

Only an early 1950 Cub, Super A, or C is a potential white demonstrator.

No Farmall A's were part of the white demonstrator program.
 
White SUPER A serials are 281269-285298. White or not, it is not worth much in the condition you describe.
