I'm trying to replace the points in my H. I'm told I have an aftermarket delco distributer (verticle). I removed the cap and rotor to find a 'cover' over the points. How is this 'cover' removed? thank you in advance

The cover just lifts off, if it is stuck, you may need to lightly tap it with something that won't break it to get it off. The Delco & IH distributor points are not the same.

I said The Delco & IH distributor points are not the same, sorry I was think of a magneto, don't know if the points are different between the distributors.

No, the points, condensor, rotor,cap, etc, are not the same for the Delco and the IH.

minneapolis moline also ran the delco distributors, you need the tune up kit for the clip style cap.

I think the points are the same as the old 6 volt 6 cylinder chevvys, also a JD 60 with Delco dist.
