I posted a question yesterday about the worth of an IH combine Model 79. The Model was incorrect the combine is a model 76 (thanks A). Again the machine is in very good working condition. What want be a fair asking price for the machine? Thanks for any feedback.

JGH,If you want it and can afford it ,its your price. If your a collector and need it to complete a certain series you might have to pay more.Transportation and the cost of looking gets expensive, sometimes your better off biting the bullet and buy one close to you

JGH: A friend of mine bought a mid 70s John Deere 6600 diesel combine, with grain platform for $1,000. this past spring. He combined 100 acres of wheat this fall, only having to replace a bearing in end of platform auger.

That in my opinion puts those those old pull types at scrap price.

Where is it located? Moving one any distance is often a problem. I would be interested in a good pull type if it were located in Michigan.Price range Ive seen has been 350.00 to 500.00

This one is in really good shape, but it is located in SE corner of Tenn. I am thinking this older gentleman is thinking the combine is worth a lot more than it is. I collect IH trators not combines so I told him I would check it out on the forum.
Thanks
