Farmall M Radiator repair, J B Weld??

I have a Farmall "M" tractor with a radiator leak around where the top hose connects. If I don"t have the means to take it off and get it soldered right now, would it work to use JB Weld, or is this not advisable. Thanks for your responses!

I JB welded crack in seam where top tank on my M meets core about 5 years ago and it has never leaked. I have non pressure radiator doubt if it will hold on pressue radiator.

While the JB weld is still fluid place a piece of window screen over it and mash it into the mixture. This will keep it from cracking.

"GUNK" makes a solder powder type product that i used twice now and was really happy. I stood there and watched the leak stop while the motor was running. I'm not sure if it would work well on real big leaks, but for small seaping leaks it worked great. I never seem to have any luck with JB weld anymore. I think the new stuff isn't as good. Its worth a try though. Good luck

I think JB Weld would do a good job if you clean the metal really good, preferably with a power wire brush. Take a small amount of liquid out of the radiator so the crack can be dried with a propane torch, work some of the epoxy into the crack while slightly warm, and then put lots oveer that and use a piece of nylon screen worked into the top to add strength. Should hold for years. Henry
