My dad noticed something differant today about the rear of his 1086 today. The housing that the lift arms come out of is busted from top to bottom right in the center, it looks like a 1" chunk is about to come out. Just wondering how big a job this might be to change out and what might have made this happen. The last equipment on this tractor was a set of 4 row planters with chissel plow, last year. I can't help but believe he would have noticed the damage before now. There is no external leak and the lift still works. Thanks

Steve,
If the tractor was driven over the edge of a ditch bank at the end of a field with the planter on, the planter can catch the bank and raise the 3pt. to high. The stop for the internal 3pt arm is in the center of the houseing. Can push it out. If this tractor has the closed center hyd system have seen them pushed out when the 3pt. was not even in use.
You will have to remove the seat and floor from the cab. Remove fuel tank, lines linkage ect. as needed under cab. Lift off with a cherry picker. New houseings were made heavier. Have welded some. Can usually find a good used one.

Haven't kept up with prices, been out of the business for 4 yrs. now. Would check on new one, then try some salavage yards. Should be readily avaiable.
