Sleeve not a press fit.

I pressed newe sleeves into a h block today. The first three had to be pressed in with some force but the last one on the number one cylinder slides in and out with very little force. These are after market sleeves. What do you suggest I do with that last sleeve? Will it definatly cause damage if I leave it how it is?
Thanks

If it is loose enough to slide in W/O tools, it may fracture at the top and drop into the lower end (not good)
Putting Iodine (the medicine)on it with it dry and clean and a bit of water mist to set it in place will rust it to the bore. This does work, but is tough to remove. Others have put Locktite sleeve liquid on them to hold them. I think this reduces the transfer of heat.
IH had A, B C, and D sized bores and select fit sleeves into them. (stamped near the sleeve ring on each) If only ssuppliers would make sleeves to those sizes. JimN

put locktite on it , i have used it for the past 20 years, and it will transfer heat they make it for a whole lot of more complicated sleeves than tractors, just make sure its super clean and use the the green stuff for sleeves.i use it on all sleeves i put in.

I just rebuilt a SH and 2 of 4 sleeves were a medium slip fit (hand pressure only). I used Loctite 640. It is made specifically for high strength, high temp. sleeve retaining applications. I recommend using it without the primer. The primer only accelerates the cure, it does not improve the bond. I used it with the primer on a 95 degree day and it almost set up before I got the sleeve seated. I just used brake cleaner on the second one and it went quite well.
