Farmall M with 4 Wheel Drive

This person i talked to today said he has a farmall M with 4 wheel drive. Did some of them come with 4WD? Is it factory? Any pictures?

the farmall m could be equiped with a ellwood system, or it's someones custom job. there were no m's from the factory with 4x4. you could find pics in the tractor photo section or on google images.

I saw one of these Elwood kits for sale last year, it cost $6500.00 just for the front axle and parts. It is neat looking but at what cost , the axle kit is worth more then the tractor.

Ten years ago, this 660 was bought for $2975 at a farm sale (auction) north of Albany, NY but closer to Rutland, VT. It has needed no repairs. I don't know why anyone didn't see the value. It might have sold for the same price without Elwood.

All the MFD parts will retrofit back to M's built in 1939.

I have seen a couple of pictures of Ford 801 series tractors (one a diesel) with the Elwood MFWD installed. Think they were ahead of their time and not popular. The Ford 841 diesel was used as a log skidder. They look to be heavily built and of good design.
