question from a newbie

Just a quick question from a newbie....

I got a 48 intl cub, not the lowboy, the regular. Ive had it for 2 years and recently aquired a snow blade for it, my question is....how well do these push snow?

later,
Dustin

the cub does a pretty good job moving snow, its a good idea to put chains on the tires, especially if its icy.

i had one ,and when i put the blade on i thought it would fall off, as sone as i pushed with it , used it 2 years and what a little monster-no wonder they sold so many of them, put chaines on it

I'm waiting for 1st snow to try mine too. We've had this tractor for many years, we use it to York rake...this'll be the 1st year we're going to try to push snow, we'll have to compare notes when the snow flies.

Hey thanks for that picture man, do you think you could take a few more of the side so i can see how it hooks to the hydralics? I have NO CLUE how to hook this thing on there...

thanks.

external_link specializes in cubs and has lots of pictures.

If you've got an asphalt driveway, be VERY careful with tire chains. Even if you don't spin on the asphalt, they will put little pock marks all over your asphalt.

I just put it in the barn outback, we have people here today, I'll try to pull it out later & get some better pics for you.

You guys are awesome...thanks.

I dont know the more i look at these pics the more im wondering if i can figure this out or not...and im wondering if i even go all the pieces????

Mine looks more like the L54 model or whatever plow...will this bolt onto a 48 model?

Dustin

I have a 54 lo-boy with turf treads on it that I use to mow the grass in the summer. Then when fall comes I put on some old truck chains that I made and I use it to skid 12 foot logs for firewood and when the snow comes down I use it to plow. My driveway is about 1/4 mile long and the old girl does just fine. The neighbor got his 4x4 truck stuck in the ditch and I was able to get him out with the lo-boy with the chains on. Didn't even have to go get the big tractor. Those cubs may be small, but they are fierce!

Dustin,
Yes, a L54 which is made for a Lowboy will fit/mount to a regular Cub. If you are missing pieces, TMTractor has some parts available.
Good Luck.

Well i dont think im missing any of the real important pieces (I think all im missing is the little pivot stick for underneath, but i can make one of those pretty easy).

I cant believe the amount of stuff that gets posted on these forums...im gone for 3 days and my topic gets pushed back to page 3 lol.

Also...what happens if you dont hook it up exactly according to the directions?

Dustin
