Flash Welding?

Who/Where would I inquire for repair services for internal steering parts?

Hit a rock yesterday and something very bad happened inside my steering box. I'll know more when I get it apart but I'd rather not have to sport for a whole new steering box from a salvage yard.

Who does this sort of thing?

Wait until you get it apart. It is likely that you snapped a shaft, stripped a gear, or sheared a keyway. Replacing the broken parts with good used pieces from a salvage yard will be far quicker, less costly, and more reliable than having someone weld up and machine the broken parts.

We are talking about a 330 Utility. With the Turkey approaching I haven't had any time to really dig into it. I think the part I am suspicious about is called a sector shaft and my understanding is that they are as common as hens teeth these days. I'm led to believe that this is a common problem with these if there's a loader involved.

I sent an email to Roland Jackson about his power steering rig. He say's his setup removes the mechanical connection and I would not need to fix the steering box. Boy I'd sure much rather be able to go that route.

I feel the same way. With sector shafts virtually unavailable anymore and replacement steering boxes costing upwards of $800 the Jackson route is making the most sense to me. The price tag hurts like hell in this economy and probably will keep me from putting a Saginaw on the back for another year but in the end I will have a much more solid machine. I'll probably keep looking at it from all angles but plan to find a way to do it with the Jackson.
