I am ready to start ordering parts form H. Ive read alot and cant figure out where to buy from. Whats the best place to order from. The prices range so much for the same parts im afraid to start buying till someone just tells me where. My next order will probely be brake bands and maybe the seals behind the brakes if needed and i can find out what part they are. Should I have the rotor turned? And also all 3 lights and wiring for them. Then a toolbox and seat spring and shock and seat cover. thanks for the help Will

It's surprising what the Case IH dealers still carry for these old tractors. You can do a parts search right off their website, but that's not to say I'd buy everything there.

I bought all my gaskets from a Case IH dealer (I used Messick's). All my seals & bearings from a local bearing house - just took the old ones in & they matched them right up with new.

Beyond that, it seems like most of the "new replacement" parts like your brake bands, lights etc. probably come from the same overseas manufacturers. OEM does mfg. some of their own stuff. I've used them, Kuhn's, Messick's, Wenger's etc. for that kind of stuff.

Any number of suppliers out there.
For aftermarket (and a lot of things -- seats, steering wheels, brake bands) you can find at some dealers is aftermarket anyway), there are OEM, Steiner's, the store here at YT, and lots of others. And, if they've got a good counterman, your local Case IHNHFord dealer can be a help, especially if their legacy included IH.

For prices, you'll need to shop around the sources as they vary widely from item to item.

If you find yourself needing service/experience/advice, I would recommend Bermuda Ken Updike at external_link (ace counterman, author and IH afficianado who works at a CIHNHF dealer in Wisconsin), as a fellow who can be a big help in crossing numbers or knowing the ins and outs of any odd stuff you may find you need.

Would it be better too know where not to order from, like ebay or any others known to sell junk, thanks again

You have two choices. Your first choice should be Case-IH, the quality might be better, but not always, the prices usually are much higher, and they may not be able to get everything you need.

Your second choice would be any of the aftermarket suppliers such as this site, Steiners, OEM, Myself, or a whole host of others. If you choose the aftermarket, shop for the best price and best service. The quality will be the same from all of them because those parts ALL come from the same place.

NAPA and this site are good other reputable real commercially used auto stores can also do it well. JimN

In my experence gaskets from CIH are far better than most aftermarket gaskets. I've been burned by Victor Renz head and intake, oil pan and valve cover gaskets! Spend a little more and get the CIH ones and only do the job once.

Gaskets and oddball parts I get at a CNH dealer. Just found out that a local tractor dealer is now a CNH dealer just 10 minutes away! Previously the closest was 65 miles. I use EBAY for a lot of common items like brake disks, steering wheels, knobs, gauges, hydraulic pump (Hy Capacity brand), ect.

Good luck and do not be afraid of EBAY.
