Farmall 100 with fast hitch and #60 blade mounting????

I have a 100 with a fast hitch and a model 60 front blade. I have it hooked up but I know it is not right. The lifting arm for the snow blade has been broke and it is just not right how it is hooked into the hydraulics. I need to see some pics of how it is hooked up to the hydraulics and the rear fast hitch arm that comes up the hydraulics. Does anyone have pictures of a model #60 snow blade and fast hitch hook up? If so please send pics to my email adress [email protected]
I am also looking for some parts for a model #60 my dads is not complete for his super A.

Chad: The blade lift is same whether fast hitch or non fast hitch. Could you explain more fully, and exactly what is broken?

My lift is broken and missing a part. I know that from my Dads Super A.
my lift arm from the hydrualics to the lift arm on the blade is broke. It has a rod with a u shape on both ends one hooks to the blade lift arm and the other end that is broke one ear is broke off is now hooked diriectly to the hydraulic arm. You have the 2 pins that are held in by a spring loaded clip. I am missing the part that hooks into the spring loaded clip to the borken ear of the lift rod. the lift rod ear that is still there is in the pin hole for the spring loaded clip.
the other hole with the spring loaded clip is holding up the read lift guide bard for my fast hitch.
On my dads super A the lift rod has a boomerang shaped piece that uses both hydraulic pins that are held in by the spring loaded clip. If I had the piece for my blade lift then what would the fast hitch rod hook into?

Chad: I don't have a factory blade, sold that many years ago and completely fabricated my own 7' angle blade. I do use a lift linkage very similar to the factory setup.

My blade lift linkage only attaches to front hole of rockshaft, and draft link from hitch bail attaches to back hole. If I am using the blade much, I always remove the draft link and pin hitch bail to bottom of platform. I leave it that way all winter. My factory blade only attached to front hole of rockshaft as well. In fact I've never seen this U device you speak of on your dad's SA, not even on my neighbor's new SA in 1953.

well I am still lost. I did use it last night and loved it. I made it work but I want to make it right so I don't break anything.
I don't know what you are talking about hooking the draft bar to the platform.
I also use a rear fast hitch back blade.
should I have the draft bar hooked up somewhere else?

Chad,

Go look at these pics at Wengers. I think it shows the piece you are talking about. Maybe they also have the parts you need.

Im no expert on snow plows because we dont use them here but I think they have that curved part hooked up backwards. The single hole should go toward the plow and the three holes should go to the lift arm. If you click on "Farmall Collector" on the left of the Wengers page it has another snow plow that is hooked up correct.

Why not go to an I-H dealer and get the owners manual since you have the model# that way you will know what the bracket looks like and maybe you could make one.

Chad: When 100, 130 and 140 fast hitch tractors were new, they had a short bar, L shaped, bolted to bottom of platform, same size stock as draft link. It was designed for pining front of hitch bail out of way when cultivating tall crops. Never intended for use when using fast hitch, as looseness of hitch would slam on bottom of platform continuously. When my 130 was new, we used to pin the hitch bail up to platform to give better clearence when raking hay, that is until we couldn't tolerate the slamming. We then built a cross member, top front of final drives, and anchored the hitch bail tight to that rather than platform. I still use that rather than the factory device under platform. I also have it adjustable for height.

That could work for you as when using rear blade height of hitch bail could remain constant. The draft link is removed for both the factory setup and my cross member. One problem I encounter if I leave the draft link connected from rockshaft to hitch bail, and have hitch mounted weight, it affects the lift performance of blade. You have that rear blade, I have a 500# hitch counter weight to give better traction pushing my 7' wide, 20" high blade. I have used front blade with an implement for counterweight on hitch in the past. Anything on that rear hitch, slows performance of blade hydraulics if the hitch draft link is hooked up.

Wegners is close but mine is a newer model it is spring loaded inm the front. I can get the boomerang thing made by taking my dads off. My next thing is how does the Fast hitch hook up with it hooked up that way.

Its like Hugh was saying....

You take the pressure rod off and then the bail hooks into a little bolt (bracket) looking thing under the seat.

You might want to get the Operators Manual for the 140 cause it shows all this. I have to take mine off when I use the 179 Planter.

Chad: If you want to make a good improvement to the tractor and snow blade you have, add a remote valve to the tractor hydraulic system, then use a remote cylinder to lift the blade.
