Premade spark plug wires

I'm looking for premade spark plug wires for Hs and Ms.

People have told me to "just go to NAPA and ask for a wire set for an older 4-cylinder car/truck."

Dad and I went to the local Advance Auto and spent a half hour with the parts guy. Short of going behind the counter and searching box-by-box for something suitable, it was a lost cause. That's what the parts guy ended up doing, and he came up with a 6-cylinder set that was waaaaaay too long.

Both Dad's Super C and Super H have premade plug wires that the previous owners had "laying around" and couldn't remember what they were for. They look great and work great.

All you can get at the CaseIH dealer are those "universal" kits which are IMPOSSIBLE to put together, and fall apart at the drop of a hat.

What spark plug wire set do you ask for at the auto parts store to get one that fits on these old 4-cylinder Farmalls?

A Nissan (Datsun) 610 pickup will have short enough wires. Purchase wires with magnetic suppression (wound wires around a fiber core) these last a long time deliver hot spark, and do not give off static. Avoid carbon resistor wires, they are not as satisfactory in any way, and you will not find copper wire based wires for a 610, or almost any vehicle pre made. JimN

I have bought kits in the past for street performance cars that allow you to make your own...not really that hard to do.....

As you said in your own post "go to NAPA" Don"t go to Advance or AZ, Those clowns can only find car parts if it is in their computer, maybe

OEM Tractor Parts has wires about as close as you can get to the factory wires. Have a set on my Super H. Forget the ones you assemble.

I've found out I'm not very good at making wires and making the ends stay on etc. with those universal wire kits. They also don't seem to come in a 90 degree fitting at the plug.

I'll check the nissan wires.

I also noticed that NAPA had a rack of single wires with 90 degree ends of varying lengths. Probably more expensive but they were manufactured wires. You would have to measure the size of each wire you want.

Yeah, OEM just sells the same crappy put-it-together-yourself kit that the IH dealer sells. Brillman's work is niiiiice, but more money than I want to spend on simple spark plug wires.

Thanks for all the suggestions, but I'd like to make a feeble effort to get this back on track.

I'd like to know what to ask for when I go into a local auto parts store.

Not for nothing, but I want to be able to have the wires TODAY. I want to feel them in my hands, to look at them, to make sure they're what I want.

Seems like it used to be called Packard 440 cable(copper wire) solder ends on after a little practice. Any size you need.
