2nd pulley on the end of the crank.

Just picked up the M I was given a while back. Noticed that it has a sprocket on the end of the crankshaft secured by the pin that the crank engages. Question-- do anyone know if there is a pulley that will fit on the end of the crankshaft and secured the same way. Looking for a simpler way to add live hydraulics to my M.

The short answer is no but.
Appropriate pulleys are available but need to be machined to match the shaft etc. Running a belt driven system has some limits, but works well most of the time. The belt can (and does) act like a safety clutch limiting breakage in other places (more costly breakage). Steven in AZ has posted pictures here many times so they should be in the picture archives. Good luck. JimN

How about a pulley for a char-lyn power steering pump. Thats held in place by the crank pin. Bernie Steffen
