Feasibility question

I have a homemade log splitter; the cylinder is 29 inches long and 4inch diameter. Can I take the lines off the super C fast hitch remote control valve and power the log splitter from there? Would I need any additional hardware? What about fluid levels ?

More than likely the SC has 1-way hydraulics on the lift. The splitter is going to require power in, power out (ie: two way hydraulics). A remote valve is going to have to be installed to give two-way control.

Good luck,

Charles

Yes you can but there is a retarder in the line so the implement wont drop fast. It is located in the block in front of the seat bracket. Remov it and it will work. Your cycl holds more oil that the one on the fast hitch. You can add a resivour on the filler plug. They did that when putting a loader on the Cs. Now the best way would be to add new lines off the input where they go to the control you now have and then put a control valve on the splitter Just add some couplers in those lines so all you have to do is unhook them when not using the splitter and your fast hitch will work as usual. The small line is pressure and the large line is return.

Yes as it doesent hurt anything. It is piece of pipe around 3in dia and maybe a foot long. It has a pipe nipple welded to the bottom and a filler neck on the top. It just screws into the filler plug on the res tank. You could use anything that holds maybe 2qt of fluid. You could mount a tank any where close and use a hose running to the filler neck. Just as long as you had an opening on the top to add fluid. It could be mounted on the lite bar as its close to the res.
