BN "Clutch" Update

Thanks to all of those who posted on my other post about the "fan clutch" issue I had been told about.

It turns out the BN in question has one of the exhaust lifts on it for the cultivators. Apparently this is in a state of disrepair. I guess something is cracked or missing and has allowed water into the engine through the hole in the manifold.

So, this is a slightly larger problem than just loosening a fan belt unfortunately :(

It was running this spring, so perhaps its not too bad yet, but I have no idea the extent of the problem yet. Ill report back when I can pick them up and give a good once over next week.

I appreciate the input so far, and Im sure there will be more questions to come.

After you get it home I would blow out all the cylinders and then fill them with ATF and walk away from it for a week or 2. Then I would set a 12 volt battery and use short fast taps on the starter button to see if it will pop loose. Be sure to pull the plugs before you try the starter and be sure to put the plugs back in when you fill so as to keep dirt etc. out
