can anyone tell me the difference of a 263 gas flywheel and a 282 diesel they the same bolt pattern i know not for sure about the ring gear and weight

The bolt pattern is the same.

It is even possible that the crankshaft part numbers are the same. There are about five different shafts that are dimensionally the same. Early diesel shafts were not to be reground. Early gasoline shafts will break when used in a diesel. Later engines all used the same shaft.

can i use the gas flywheel on the diesel motor it is a early model motor

The flywheels are different because of the ring gears.
