Fenders for M

Been driving the 1939 M around and want to make it safe for my Grandson. The fender that was designed for this tractor do not appear to provide the protection I would prefer. Question is there fenders out there that will fit the M that would completly cover the wheel and tire similiar to the W series?
Thanks Harley

To my knowledge there are no fenders similar to a W series that will fit your M. I also agree that the factory style fenders for the H and M really serve no useful purpose. If operator safety is more of a concern than 100% originality, you might consider the flat top fenders for the later IH tractors such as the 806. I've also seen a pair of fenders mounted on an M that were originally installed on a John Deere 630, 730, 3010, or 4010. Painted red, those fenders really did look quite good and were much more functional than original M fenders.

Ditto to what RustyFarmall said. I have a WD Allis that originally had the clam shell fenders like the M. It now has flat top fenders off of a much later tractor like an Allis 170. They work great!

You could use the flat top fenders off of a 06-66 series. There is also the clam style used on some of the 06 series and I believe that they were factory on most 460 and 560's. Covers 1/2 of the tire which is more than the ones on the M. But you still can't sit on them. Just another option.
