famall h manuals

Has anyone purchased a service manual for a farmall h off of this site? They have whats listed as a "Servicemanual"and an aftermarket I&T manual. Does anyone know which one is better or where where to find a good one that will cover engine, transmission, fuel, and electrical repairs?

I have purchased a few manuals from this site and I am very happy with them. I stay away from ITT manuals when ever I can. Too generic and not specific enough to the particular tractor in question when compared to a manual for THAT tractor, in my opinion. The funny thing here is that if you order a specific manual for a specific tractor from this site, you will get a Jensales reprint but at a considerably cheaper price than if you were to order from Jensales directly. LOL

I have both for my tractors (BN and SuperC). They overlap considerably, but each has little bits of information here and there that the other doesn't, at least as they apply to my tractors. It may or may not be the same case with your H.

If I were to have only one, it would be the IH. It will be specific to your tractor, so you don't have to weed or wade through a lot of stuff that doesn't apply to yours. The IH manual will also typically have more illustrations for your tractor. That and the IH Operator's
Manual, along with the sage advice around here, will get you through most issues.

Buy both as Scotty says -- for the H they complement each other quite well. Binder Books, www.external_link, has digital copies of the IH books that are much clearer than the photocopies Jensales and even Case-IH sell.

I was fortunate enough to find an old original IH copy of an Operator's Manual for my H at a tractor show. I'm sure they could be found on Ebay too (They're full sized with a red cover and relatively thick).

While this may be a little more pricey than I&T manuals, etc. it is BY FAR the most comprehensive manual I've seen for an H. Plus it's very clearly worded and even includes entertaining little safety cartoons :)

I suppose you would need to get a service manual for details about serious engine overhauls, etc., but the operator's manual covers a whole lot of adjustments and specs too.

Just my opinion.

I have not purchased any manuals from YT yet, but I will sometime. From what I've heard from others, YT manuals are very good. You will want both manuals.
