Is it safe?

I posted earlier that the direct drive is out on my 340 utility. It works fine in low range only. I need to tear it down to fix but cannot yet as I need it to move all this snow we are getting. Will I damage the unit further if I continue to use it?

I haven't checked the adjustment but my buddy was hauling
firewood w/ the T.A. back and he went down a pretty good sized
hill. He was able to slow it down and handle it fine but it didn't
work after that.

Mark: your buddy cost you about $750. for a rebuilt TA, plus about $500. in labour.

You can check the adjustment, but chances are that when your buddy went down the hill in TA, the TA freewheeled, oversped and disintegrated. The damage is done and it probably won't hurt it any more by running it.

Im a little confused. Does the tractor now run properly with the TA lever forward or back.

I was afraid of that. I might as well do the clutch while it is split, right?

Mark: You'll have to judge the clutch when you split the tractor.
