Farmall M Governor Seal Question

I am refurbishing an M and have a question. According to the IH parts manual there is a seal located in the governor shaft housing at the carb end. I have the felt one that installs near the governor end. I called IH today and they can't locate that part number. Is there actually a seal there? If there is any suggestions where to acquire? It doesn't appear there was anything there on this M or it has just gone away. Thanks for any help.

Chances are your M never came with the seal, but to make sure look on the housing for the number. If it has the housing for the seal part number will end with DB. D or DA won"t have the seal.
Seal is actually located near the governor end of housing and goes in from carb end.
Going to work now so short on time, if you still need number later today post back or contact.
