IH Engine ID

I have a engine it is a IH 6cyl. gas the numbers on the block are H T 101 and just below it is 13258.Needing to know what size this is.Thanks! Keith Y.

Do you know if it's a truck motor or an ag unit? If it's a truck motor, there's a machined spot on the right-hand side of the block,just below the head and just behind the water pump, that should have 2 lines stamped, the engine designation [like BD-264] and then the engine serial number.

Keith: Just because it came from a combine, doesn't necessarily indicate it is a combine engine. Lots of old IH combines got that 264 transplant Buzzman speaks of. Never say never when it comes to the various versions of that IH 6 cylinder engine. IH put it in everything but a but a lawn mower.

If its an AG engine look around the oil filter housing for a machined off place that should have numbers stamped ou it. example d-282,c-291
