Farmall H 1943

Hi. well my H is now almost finished except for the little "Oh! I forgot that" jobs.So we took a little trip around the fields, and as you can see took a look at the horse, the horse wasn't even remotely interested. As you can see it has some strange non standard wheels. I have no idea who manufactured them. I have seen them on a Case and an Oliver so I think they must be from immediately after WW2 when rubber became available but the wheels simply were not in UK. So anyone who can throw light on this please do. Have a nice day MTF

Mike, that's the first time I have ever seen wheels like that and I've been to a lot of tractor shows over the years. Thanks for posting and I will be watching to see what other information is posted about them. I have two 1943 H's, all with the standard every day wheels.

Those are great wheels!! I would use them as is. They look like they have 36" rims which is a bit undersized. (if I am correct) The 38" rims might be able to be adapted with a welded in 1" spacer to allow the bigger rubber on those excellent wheels.
Very nice tractor, The road license adds to the European "effect". JimN

This is a "funny". Here in UK every H I've ever seen has 36" wheels. and all the M's are on 38's. I shall indeed keep it on these wheels I'd just like to know more about them. Thanks for your interest MTF

I really love those wheels!!!! I want 2 sets for my H and M. Would really stand out at the shows here in the US. Very nice looking H you have Mike

My H {origanally from Nottinghamshire} is on 38" wheels, all the Hs down here are on 36" and I keep getting told my wheels are from an 'M', and the wide front is a conversion, but all the casting codes are within a few weeks of each other so I think it is all origanal. There is a picture of it in Tractor photos ploughing near Christchurch, NZ. Posted by 'lanzman'

Unless they know something that I dont your wheels cant be off an M because the axle size is different and I understand that most of the M's and H's that came to UK during and immediately after ww2 had wide fronts. Always willing to learn though. MTF
