IH Head???

Was Wondering if someone could tell me what head I have and what it fits,The # is 164415R It is a IH head. Thank You for any help.Keith Y.
 
The R tells the year of the casting. The number you have is the casting number but I am not sure if it is the part number. Is it 4 or 6 cylinders.

Just for your own benifit, post your question again next week since there are some on this forum that would have already answered if they were on line. LMack
 
Keith, my parts book shows that it would fit a 6 cylinder IH combine motor. Not sure of the model, but probably a 303 or 403 possibly a 715.
 
L Mack: The series of numbers and letter 164415R is not the format for a casting date code, plus it has too many digits. In all fairness I doubt that Kieth has it in the proper format either. I personally think it should read 164415 R, followed by numbers. Very likely Marv has the right answer.
 
The number ending in R is the casting number, which may or may not be a valid part number. Sounds like a truck head to me, probably a tilt valve rather than a straight valve head.

But it's apparently a newer part # than my '50-'52 truck parts books will handle.
