340 starting issues

Was cutting wood the other day w/ 340, 12 volt converted, and it ran and started fine several times all day until the end of they day. When I was ready to leave it wouldn't even roll over but had full strength lights. Pulled it to get started, fired right up, and the amp gauge showed a real heavy charge on full throttle and idle. Now it won't roll over and lights are completely dead. Thoughts? Battery is a year old.

I have a "less than perfect" ground cable on my 340 and sometimes have to twist it back and forth on the battery terminal a bit to get it to crank. Guess I need to fix that...

Check all the battery connections(both ends), clean and replace cables as necessary. Make sure your ground cable goes directly to a starter mounting bolt.

Definitely one of the main battery cables. Clean, shiny, and bright are the words to live by there.

Thanks for all the advice. I charged the battery, showed full charge already, cleaned up cables real good and whammo, fired right up. I thought they were good and clean connections but boy was I wrong. Thanks again.
