706 - add third hyd valve?

I'm thinking I'd like to add a grapple fork to my loader on the 706. Is there a 3rd valve option for that tractor? Thanks

Very easy... All you have to do is get another "sandwich" valve and place it in with the existing. It will require replacing the 3/8" mounting bolts with longer ones. Also one would have to find or modify existing pivot rod for the lever.

I have 4 valves (open on both sides) and 3? handles. I also have 2 bypass endcaps. If interested, I could sell one as is (as is) or rebuilt (I'll stand behind it). The last two I rebuilt I bead blasted all parts for the detent operating assembly, replaced all o-rings, detent balls, and unlatching pistons.

Somewhere I may have some banjo fittings and bolts, but I would recommed using 5/8" (-10) ORB fittings instead. I used ORB to JIC and rubber hydraulic hose.

Here are some pics of the valve you need, I think. They are good for a 404-1486???

Let me know if I can help, these valves can be hard to find.

Thanks Charles, looks like that is what I need. I'll have to take some covers off and see if my 706 looks like the set up in your pictures. One of my valves runs both the front connections and the rear connections, a third valve might let me split those up as well. Let's take our discussion off-line, email me at [email protected].

Thanks

The valves on the 706 are under the seat. There isn't room to add any more than two. Charles's valves won't fit the 706 either, AFAIK.

Hopefully you've got an earlier 706 with the power beyond plate already installed, or a separate end plate on your valve stack regardless. They make a "power beyond" plate that will allow you to add as many aftermarket hydraulic valves as you want.

I am pretty confident the valve is the same on most 60's and 70's IH and Farmalls. The handles and pivots differed though. Also some could take 3 and some could not (my 504 can only take two and the PB plate would be a tight fit if possible).

The front remotes is all through plumbing, not the valve. My 504 was orginally like that too.

This is how I got around only having two remotes...

I know I have posted these in another post, but they are a solution to several hydraulic issues and problems. My problem was lack of PSI (1550 relief on tractor), I now have 2000 PSI to the loader. I had only two remotes, I now have 5.

Good luck, if I can help I am here.
