Do all 10-20s have the same manifold?

I have a 37 10-20 and I need a manifold. Are they all the same from year to year? Is there a casting # I should watch for? Thanks, Bill

They are the same from mid 1929 through mid 1939. Should not be too hard to find a decent one for you tractor. IH built a bunch of 10-20s during that time frame.

and if i recall correctly, from 29 on they exited right at the bottom rear corner of the hood shet, and not back through the 'firewall' to an elbow.

your looking for a manifold that is identical loking to a 22-36 with a switchable heat exchanger. IHC parts book lists this as part number 1714DX, used on serial numbers 139067 and up :D

I'm not familiar with "robin" as rustred noted. Was this an aftermarket brand? I just assumed all the manifolds field adapted through the hood [rather than the stock through curtain, or earlier, firewall] were IH part numbers intended for either F-30s or power units.

Did any 10-20s or 22-36 ever leave the factory with updated manifolds or governors? I didn't see it, but a neighbor said that he seen a modified 22-36 at a show that looked factory and the owner claimed it was. I suspect more likely 'dealer modified' if this was the case [rather than a previous owner very meticulus in sheet metal skills] at all, but I've been wrong all too often before!

no 15-30's or 22-36's left with 'upright' exhaust, these have been modified. I sold a 15-30 to Alderson in Iowa and it had a manifold and K-5 carb off of a P-300 power unit (22-36 engine). Since it came off a power unit it bolted right on and even came with the different air cleaner tubes which really made it look like it could have been built that way. once you looked at the part #'s cat in the pieces you could tell 8)

Robin is an aftermarket item.

you can bolt an F-30 manifold to a 10-20 but have only seen that done once. main problem is the air cleaner on a 30 is up front, whereas a 10-20 its out back and the 30 carb faces forward

a little more info, the robin manifold was an after market add on. it had the exhaust pipe going through the hood rather than down threw the curtain. also came with intake manifold and different carb and gov. linkage. this was to give the tractor more H.P. the robin name was also cast in the manifold.

The manifold you want is sort of a double loop looking thing. It has two baffles that switch exhaust routing through the loop for running on kerosene or gasoline and are marked that way. One of the baffles is rectangular and is at the top with two nuts. The other one is round and is at the bottom where the two loops come together and it is round with one nut. The intake is cast in with the exhaust as one large unit. If you can get one from North Dakota, Montana, Saskachewan, or some nice dry wheat growing climate as it will be in better shape than one from back east. Most of the later production were sold in those areas since the row crop Farmall tricycle type was the most popular in the midwest and further east. One with a good elbow on the bottom may be tough but some one makes the elbows new I think. As far as how many types did IH make?, 3 total. One from 23-26 with two exhaust outlets out the hood side, one from 27-28 where the outlet goes through the rear firewall into a little muffler deal and out the side, and the 29 up style which exits at the rear corner of the hood side. There was also some rare options with the exhaust that went straight up in the air with a spark arrestor deal but that attached on the oulet elbow.
