My starter I bought new for my M last spring quit working this week and all it would do is making a funny sounding noise. I took it off and the bolt has come loose that holds the drive gear end of the starter to the starter motor itself.Problem is it looks like a piece of metal has broken off that holds the clip that keeps the bolt tight. Can I put something like Loc tight on the bolt to keep it from loosening up. Is there a better way to fix it?

Blue locktite is a great solution. Make sure it is Carb spray clean and dry when applying. JimN
