1086 Hydraulics

Is there an adjustment for the detent on the spool valves? While spreading lime today I had to put a tarp strap on the lever to keep the spreader fans operating. Very annoying! Tom

Yes on the bottom of remote valves, there should be a removable expansion plug. Using a flat screwdriver turn slotted screw inside of housing in to desired detent setting.

Also sometimes the linkage gets enough wear in it that the levers are not moving the valve far enough to reach the detent position.

There are rebuild kits available.

Did you try reversing the hydraulic hoses in the remote outlets? My nephew had similar trouble & the remote lever was set for plowing with the float position set on the lever. I cranked the stop bolt down a couple of turns, & the lever locked in O.K. May be your problem. Worth a look.

The bungee cord is a permanent fixture in our 1086... 10,000 hours and counting seems to wear things out.
