W6 - What Kind Of Pistons?

They have the number 374265 R1. Below that, it says CAM Z16 or 216 (not sure). They're in great shape; still silver - no carbon on them or the sleeves. I've come to figure, the previous owner died when he was putting the engine back together. I think everything is rusted tight w/o anything seeing a good lubricating. Crud! This tight engine might be tougher to crack free than I thought. :^( Thanks - Mike
 
Those pistons are IH firecrater. They are the original Zollner forged pistons that IH Specified. These are substantially better than any of the aftermarket "firecraters" that are sold today.
 
Pistons were sold by IH. They are fire crater style pistons for 4 inch bore and standard altitude. Also about your other post, I think the tractor was assembeled in june of 49 instead of april.
