why I like red

I like red tractors because when I stab myself with a seal pick or cut myself on a gear like I did today, and my wife walks in the shop unannounced I have the perfect excuse. Today she walked in when my back was turned and I caught her eyeballing a shop towel. I explained that the red on the towel was 2150. Not easily fooled, my wife glanced at my bandage and said, "Next time be more careful. Stitches will cost you more than 2150." Oops, busted again.

I cut my hand yesterday working on the 1946 H. I was turning the front crank pulley and my hand got pinched between the pulley and the timing pointer and it cut my hand.... OUCH!

I think it goes without saying, that every time I get into a major project on one of my tractors, I draw blood in some fashion.

Part of the job I guess.......

Chris: It only gets worse as you get older. I've been doing a bit of wrenching the past two weeks. I must have a dozen wounds on my hands and arms.

Chris: I was telling Marg. about your predicament. She said your in good shape, she's seen me with enough bloody towels, I could have painted the tractor in blood. She wonders sometimes if I'm operating a butcher shop rather than a tractor shop.

Yep Charles, when the sharp end of that seal pick popped out of the seal and embedded itself in my wrist, I was definitely having too much fun.
