This is a tree left by my loggers last year. It is +40" at the butt. I think they could not cut it or nearby mills could not handle it. The largest tree I had cut was 35" and they had cut it 6' off the ground with the shear. I am planning my road to go beside it.

This tree is not so much large as it a miracle. It seems to have been damaged when young, possibly a prior logging accident. I have been told the land was logged 20-30 years prior to my purchase in 2006.

Gotta love big trees. I recently built a new home back on the home farm. My four kids have been exploring the same woods I had as a kid, but found something I had somehow missed all those years... this cottonwood is 18' in circumference...

Well SGT Bull, I happen to know that you are much older than I am, sooooooo, maybe that tree wasn't nearly as big all those years ago. ;)
