Oil Blowin' H

My H is blowing oil past the rings - pulled the plugs last night - cylinders 1, 3, & 4 were badly carboned up and wet. No 4 was so gunked up that carbon was bridging the electrode gap. I"m amazed the engine ran at all

So I have the choice of living with what I have for awhile (and cleaning the plugs and adding oil regularly) or rebuilding.

So, anybody have any ideas of ways to minimize the oil fouling (higher viscosity oil, hotter plugs, etc) while I figure out if I can afford to rebuild the engine this winter?

Realistically, you've got two choices if it's that bad:

1. Keep cleaning/replacing spark plugs every little while, and try to save up for a rebuild.
2. Park the tractor and try to save up for a rebuild.

The auto parts stores have these extensions for the spark plugs in the "HELP!" parts aisle that supposedly will reduce oil fouling, but they're mostly a gimmick, and don't really do much except separate you from your money.

I popped my pistons out, took a hone to it until ring groove was gone, and stuck in a set of rings, about $130 plus gaskets.I use this tractor nearly every day. That was 5 years ago,and it still doesnt use oil anymore. It was using nearly 2 qts a day in the field
