Mis-marked generator--follow up

To all who responded--First, I was wrong. It is a 3 brush gen. The head of the set screw has been broken off and painted over so couldn't tell from the outside! Secondly, had time today to open up the switch box and found someone had "reworked" the internal components. The IH 4 position switch has been replaced with one like AC tractors use! Cleaned all contacts and terminals and discovered that by pulling out the light switch to various stops, the charge rate can be controlled. Everything is working fine and everyone is happy. Thanks to all for your help. PS-- Performed the suggested test to determine the A and F gen. posts--So am disregarding the markings.

Nice work Doctor!

Suggestion: Use the appropriate metal stamps to permanently mark an "A" and an "F" into the generator case. Might save you another headache some years hence...!

Yo Bob, You going to New York Expo in 09?? They want me back (for whatever reason lol) and I will probalby give the Coil Ignition and Wico Mag Seminars this time versus the Charging like alst Expo. John T - I tentatively plan to spend a day at the 09 NY Expo. And if I mention "food" and "wine" there's a good chance I can convince my 'first wife' to join us(!)

Would kinda like to sit in on your Wico Mag session - not to heckle you but rather to get smart on the 2 cyl Wicos. (I've recently become somewhat familiar with the Wico one friend's hand-start A, also with the pony motor mags on another friend's pair of R's....) Bob M
