could anyone tell me what tractors this motor was used in or what it will fit in. it is in a 275 windrower but am sure it will work in some other tractors. any help would be great i am thinking of scraping this machine but the motor is to good to sell for scrap. thanks in advance

I have one in a Super C and I am thinking about putting it in the extra A that I have just to stir things up next summer at a few pulls

would this engine work in a A400 0r a 450D? or i think thats what they are. if so would they be a easy swap? like a direct bolt in? i know where there is a couple for sale at a low price but they both have bad motors and the motors are incomplete. thanks again for any and all help

John: It would severly under power a 400 or 450. It was used in the 504 and power wise they don't measure up to a 300 or 350. C-153 does not have sleeves, probably the poorest engine IH ever built.

With front cover and accessory changes/modifications to the tractor, and possible need to modify the crank to accommodate the pilot bearing, The engine is in the same block category as a 113cid A-B-C engine, or 123cid Super C-100-200- 230 tractor. As noted, they can be built to make power (their displacement advantage), but are not sought for working tractors. The small series Farmalls and IH are usually considered powerful enough for their class of use on the farm. JimN

John I sent you an e-mail Oct 25. I would be interested in buying your C153. What part of Washington are you located.

What all did you have to change to get the 153 to fit in your Super C ?? Iwas thinking about trying to put one in one of my C's.
