IH 656 Utility

I need some help. I have a Ih 656 Utility with auxilary remotes and and IH loader. Two hydraulic lines are leaking at identical fittings on each side. I am wanting to replace these fittings but I know very little about hydraulics. Obviously there is a lot of pressure going through these lines so do I need to relieve the pressure before I attempt to replace these or is it safe to take these lines apart as long as the tractor isn"t running and the pump is not running? Hope this isn"t a stupid question I thought I should ask before I do what I always do and just start taking stuff apart.
Thanks, DAve

with tractor off, work valve back and forth to relieve pressure then you should be able to remove fittings. Is it at the quick couplers? The on the back of the quick couplers it is tapered slightly, if that is where the leak is you can tighten them up. found this out by accident after removing one.

THanks for the response. THat is what I thought. I have a manual for the tractor and that is the impression I got but thought you guys would put it in terms that I would understand. It is actually two of the lines that go to the loader below the quick couplers. It is strange that neither of them leaked up until a few days ago and both started leaking at the same time. Thanks, Dave
