Model A Radiator Cap

I had to buy a new radiator for my 1947 A, the old one was non-pressurized thermal-syphon with the cap lugs on inside the new one cap locks on outside of neck, is there a none pressure cap that would look like the original and would lock on outside. Have original but it won't work.

It is easy, Just use a pressure cap and cut coils out of the main spring until it has one or two PSI of pressure. Garages have pressure checkers for caps. (in reality the only part of the system that could not stand pressure was the radiator) so IMHO it will work fine with pressure. Assumes good hoses and clamps. JimN

Does your new radiator have the everflow tube like the original. You should have returned the new one if you want everything original. Too bad you didnt pay 100 for a good used one. You will have to make a cap if you want the original look or have a shop replace the new neck with the one off the old one.
