650D bore tolerance and ring end gap

pulled the head and i.p. off to get repaired. gonna do rod bearings while i'm at it. if i'm pullin the rod end caps off, figured i'd pull the pistons, lightly hone and check taper and ring gap. is the bore taper tol .005? ring gap? can i reuse the end cap bolts. what torque?
what stone would you guys use to deglaze?
there is a ridge at top of cylinder(not too bad, i've seen worse). will running the hone over this ridge hurt anything?
this is a light use tractor. wasn't really burnin much oil and it started good, but the head cracked and i knew the i.p. was weak. will only get a few hours a year, but it was my grandfather's and i've already got some money in it so i gotta get her runnin again. thanks.

You can reuse the rod bolts. I would recommend using locktite when installing them. As for the ridge, If it is very much it may be difficult to remove the piston and could damage the rings. If installing new rings I would definately remove the ridge. But a hone will not remove it, you need to use a ridge reamer. Good Luck

I would ise a ridge reamer Auto Zone rents them. Hal

thanks guys. borrowed a ridge reamer from local CIH dealer today. should i use some cutting oil when using it?
looks like i don't need the ring end gap as i will stick in new rings. he said reused rings on some older tractors can break. where's a good supplier for rings for these old machines? 650 had a 4 1/2 inch bore. same as SWD9 and 600 i think. thanks
