Need help with 424 rear wheel rims

I bought a 424 the other day and the rims on the rear wheels are shot! I Need to get a new set for the tractor so that I can start using the tractor. My question is, do I have to put the power adjust rims on it or can I purchase a set of rims that are not power adjusting and use them. If I dont need to put the power adjusting ones on what am I looking for in the way of nonpower adjusting?

Thanks in advance!

If you choose to go with non power adjust, you have two choices One is to build (or have built tabs to weld to the new rims to attach the jacks of the power wheels to. Or build wedging adapters to fit on the jacks, Both are tough to do.
The other option is to buy wheels to fit the new rims. That will probably double the cost, but will be fewer headaches. JimN

Janicholson - Off this subject but, maybe you can help. I sold my farm and have a IH 424 diesel w/power steering for sale. Everything works except alternator, glow plugs and lights. Tractor starts/runs real good - no smoke, etc. Hydraulics work good - no leaks. New (95%) rear tires. Tin straight except for ding on lower part of grille surround. Almost void of paint - no serious rust. Injectors reworked about fifty hours ago. Dual stage clutch. Hi/Low. Power steering is one finger. What do you (or anybody else) think would be a fair asking price? Don't know hours. I think it is a 1967. Thanks !! bob farrell

I agree(with the minor things mentioned the low end is about right). It would go much higher if fixed. JimN
